book writing, editing, publishing, and related services. Please read this Refund Policy carefully before
purchasing any of our services.
GENERAL PRINCIPLE
American Book Founders operates as a professional book services company. Our work involves expert
editorial judgment, time-based labor, and third-party production costs. As a result, fees are
non-refundable once work has commenced, except where required by applicable law.
BEFORE SERVICES COMMENCE
If you have agreed to a service package but work has not yet started, you may submit a written refund
request. Refund requests at this stage are considered at our discretion. Please note:
- Administrative fees may be deducted in accordance with applicable law.
- Once editorial review, project planning, or any preparatory work begins, services are considered
commenced and refunds may not apply.
- All refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to
info@americanbookfounders.com.
AFTER SERVICES COMMENCE
Once any of the following activities have begun, refunds are generally not available:
- Editorial assessment or manuscript review
- Ghostwriting or content creation
- Editing, proofreading, or formatting services
- Book cover design or illustration work
- Publishing setup, project management, or vendor coordination
- Audio book production or author website development
This policy exists because of the time invested by our professionals, costs already incurred, and the
nature of creative work, which cannot be reversed or reclaimed once performed.
PARTIAL REFUNDS (LIMITED CIRCUMSTANCES)
In rare cases, we may consider a partial refund where:
- Services were paid for but not yet delivered due to our error.
- Delivery was materially delayed beyond the agreed timeline due to circumstances within our control.
- The agreed scope of work was demonstrably not fulfilled.
Partial refunds are assessed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the proportion of work already
completed. They are issued entirely at our discretion and are not guaranteed.
NON-REFUNDABLE ITEMS
The following are strictly non-refundable in all circumstances:
- Editorial reviews and manuscript consultations
- Ghostwriting content already delivered
- Editing, proofreading, and formatting work performed
- Book cover and illustration design work
- ISBN registration and publishing setup fees
- Works that have already been published or submitted to distribution platforms
- Consulting calls and project planning sessions
REFUND POLICY — NULL AND VOID
Your refund request will not be honored under the following conditions:
- You have selected a custom or personalized package and work has been initiated.
- You have requested changes that extend beyond the original agreed project scope.
- We have been unable to reach or communicate with you for more than two weeks without prior notice.
- You have chosen to halt or cancel the project after work has commenced.
- Company policies or terms and conditions have been violated.
- Insufficient information was provided in the creative brief or project brief.
- The refund request is based on a "change of heart," personal dispute, or reasons unrelated to the
quality of service.
- More than one round of revisions has been accepted and approved by the client.
HOW TO REQUEST A REFUND
To initiate a refund request, please contact us in writing and include the following details:
- Your full name
- The service purchased
- Date of payment
- Reason for the refund request

PAYMENT METHOD & TIMING
Approved refunds will be issued using the original payment method where possible. Processing times may
vary depending on your bank or payment provider. American Book Founders is not responsible for delays
caused by third-party payment processors.
CHARGEBACKS & DISPUTES
We strongly encourage clients to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute
with their bank or card provider. Many concerns can be resolved quickly through direct communication.
Unauthorized or unjustified chargebacks may be disputed by American Book Founders with full supporting
documentation of the services rendered.
STATUTORY CONSUMER RIGHTS
- Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or excludes any statutory rights you may have under applicable
consumer protection laws.
- Where required by law, you may be entitled to a cooling-off period or a refund
for services not performed with reasonable care and skill.
